Gimbals

Passive 3-DOF gimbals with handle for user interaction. The links of the gimbals are designed to provide a large mounting area at the intersection point between all three joint axes. A vertical bar grip comes standard and is designed primarily for life-size haptics, exercise and rehabilitation. Other grip and mounting options are available. The gimbals use Barrett Technology's quick-connect system so that it may easily be interchanged with other end effectors.

Gimbals F/T (Force/Torque Sensors)

An additional 6-axis force torque sensor can be mounted inside the gimbals for gathering additional data. This sensor is redundant with the built-in Cartesian Force/Torque control capabilities of the WAM™ arm, but enables a separate confirmation of values at slightly higher precision.

12-month Extended Warranty

Each of Barrett Technology's components comes with a standard 1-year warranty. 12-month Extended Warranty packages can be purchase for 10% of the component's original purchase price (for up to 4 years). Warranty subscription services include free software and firmware upgrades, component maintenance, and covers all options.

Barrett's customer-support engineers are available to provide application support, instruction, training, and answers to any questions via email, fax, or phone. Additionally, customers receive access codes to download the most up-to-date versions of our software packages. Barrett maintains its software and manuals online and provides source code for customers who wish to develop software for different platforms, or to modify the code for any reason.
